RHUTHUN - Hoodie

£33.00

Rhuthun gets its name from the local red stone, "rhydd" is red and "din" means fort. Little is known about Rhuthun prior to the building of its castle in 1277 by Dafydd Ap Llywelyn who, following the death of his brother Llywelyn in 1282, became the last true Prince of Wales. He was executed in 1283 by King Edward the 1st, and was the first person to be hung drawn and quartered. Living little doubt about much of a bastard Edward actually was.

Rhuthun is where Twin Town stars and brothers Rhys and Llyr Ifans grew up.
