Y FENNI - Hoodie
Y Fenni, a market town in south east Wales. It gets its name from the river Gafenni, which has its root in the Welsh word Gof which means blacksmith. Before the Romans arrived it was an important centre for iron making. Ironically the English name Abergavenny is actually an anglicisation of the Welsh Abergafenni, Aber meaning the the mouth of a river or where a river meets a larger river. So why the Welsh call it Y Fenni and not Abergafenni is a mystery....
