Abergwaun, where the river Gwaun meets the sea. How it got its English name, Fishguard, is a mystery. There is literally no security at the town's aquarium. It is famous for being the last location that a foreign power invaded the UK, although residents would argue they are invaded on a weekly basis by stag do's from England making their way to Dublin. The French invasion of 1797 only lasted 3 days when the French soldiers, having spent 2 days at the ferry terminal emptying the vending machines, decided they preferred cheese and baguettes and went home.
