The name Bannau Brycheiniog was first recorded in the sixteenth century — a mere 300 years before the English “Brecon Beacons” made an appearance. So, not exactly a recent rebrand then.

A glorious landscape of mountains, waterfalls, sheep, sideways rain and people discovering halfway up Pen y Fan that £12 trainers from Primark weren’t designed for mountaineering.

This Bannau Brycheiniog T-shirt celebrates the original Welsh name for one of Wales’ most spectacular landscapes — and provides a useful conversation starter for anyone still complaining that somebody has suddenly “changed the name”.
