BANNAU BRYCHEINIOG — Because the mountains were Welsh before the tourists arrived.

The name Bannau Brycheiniog was first recorded in the sixteenth century — a mere 300 years before the English “Brecon Beacons” made an appearance. So, not exactly a recent rebrand.

A glorious landscape of mountains, waterfalls, sheep, sideways rain, and people discovering halfway up Pen y Fan that £12 trainers from Primark weren’t designed for mountaineering.

Now you can drink your morning brew in solidarity with the correct name. Whether it’s tea, coffee, or something stronger after explaining Welsh place names to your English relatives — this mug has your back.

Bannau Brycheiniog. Older than the Brecon Beacons. By about three centuries.
