Home to the Welsh Grand National, one of the oldest castles in Britain (built 1067, which is showing off), and the River Wye on its doorstep. Casgwent sits at the gateway to Wales — the first town you reach crossing the old Severn Bridge, which means it has been welcoming people to Wales and saying goodbye to them for centuries.
The castle is free to enter. The racecourse is not. Priorities.
