LLANGEFNI - T-Shirt
If Ynys Môn is mam Cymru — Môn, the mother of Wales — then Llangefni is the daddy of the island. Sat slap bang in the middle of Anglesey, it was once home to a large cattle market and a windmill. Today it’s home to Huws Gray, one of the biggest builders’ merchants in the UK, which is either a sign of progress or a sign that the cattle market was more interesting than anyone admits.
It is the administrative centre of Ynys Môn, which means it has the council offices, the magistrates’ court, and a Lidl. The windmill is still there. It’s called Melin Llangefni. It no longer mills anything but it looks great.
