LLUNDAIN — That's London to you. Established by Celtic tribes who created a series of small townships along the Thames, each with a perfectly good Welsh name that the English subsequently mangled beyond recognition.

Cam Dyn — Man's Step — became Camden. Ffair Mai — where a fair was held in May — became Mayfair. Cyfarthfa — a place where dogs barked — became Barking. The Romans arrived, lumped them all together and called it Londinium. The English inherited it, called it London, and have been taking credit ever since.

Llundain was the capital of Celtic Britain long before it was the capital of England. Technically, by historical precedent, it's still ours. We're just letting them borrow it.
