MACHYNLLETH - Sweatshirt
Machynlleth was originally called Penpaned but was renamed Machynlleth in 1399 by Owain Glyndŵr in order to deter the English from attacking the site of the first Welsh Parliament he had established there. By naming it Machynlleth it made it virtually impossible for English armies to ask for directions to find it.
It is the location for an annual comedy festival which has seen some of the biggest comedy talents perform there, and Tudur Owen.
Known colloquially, locally, as Mach — because the locals are too lazy to say the “ynlleth”.
