ABERTEIFI - Hoodie
ABERTEIFI — Mouth of the river Teifi. Home of the very first Eisteddfod in 1176. And it’s returning in 2026.
Its English name, Cardigan, has nothing to do with the residents’ fondness for woollen jackets. It comes from English speakers’ inability to say Ceredigion — Ceredig’s Land — which eventually became Cardigan. The jumper was named after the Earl of Cardigan, who was named after the town. So in a roundabout way, Wales invented the cardigan.
You’re welcome, fashion.
Wear the original name. Aberteifi am byth.
