Llyn Tegid — Bala Lake — is the largest natural lake in Wales, four miles long and fed by the river Dee. It’s also home to the gwyniad, a fish found nowhere else on earth, and allegedly to Tegi, a lake monster who has been keeping a very low profile since the 1980s.
Bala itself is a proud Welsh-speaking market town in the heart of Gwynedd, surrounded by mountains and entirely unbothered by the outside world’s opinion of it.
