In June 1940, 219 people were forced from their homes in Epynt, Breconshire, to create a vast military training area for World War II. Promised a return that never came, their community of farms, chapel, school and the Drover’s Arms was lost forever. Today, Sennybridge Training Area still occupies the land — a powerful reminder of a displaced Welsh community and a forgotten history.
