Croesoswallt - Sweatshirt

£30.00

CROESOSWALLT — Oswestry. A Welsh town in England.

The border is a suggestion. Croesoswallt — meaning “Oswald’s Cross” — was Welsh for most of its history and only ended up in England due to the Local Government Act of 1888, which is the kind of administrative decision that still causes arguments in pubs.

The town has a Welsh-speaking community, a Welsh-language school, and a deep suspicion of Shrewsbury. It also has one of the best markets in the Marches and a castle that’s mostly a hill now, but a very good hill.

Wear the Welsh town in England. Croesoswallt am byth.
