It is said a spring appeared on the spot where Sant Gwenffrewi was beheaded by Caradog. The well was dedicated to Gwenffrewi (Winifred in English). It is often described as the Lourdes of Wales, much in the way that Llandudno is described as the Monte Carlo.... .
