There’s a delicious bit of history behind the attitude. In 1953 Cabinet papers, Winston Churchill dismissed a proposed red-dragon design as an “Odious design expressing nothing but spite, malice, ill-will and monstrosity.” He also objected that the motto’s words were “untrue and unduly flattering to Bevan.” This tee lets the dragon have the last word.
